The African Map Sculpture project

Our Children’s Arts club has received a grant from the City of Kitchener. This grant is for the African Map Sculpture project which is aimed at educating our children and the Region about Africa and to increase multicultural dialogue starting with the young.

The program will commence in June and run monthly for a period of 6 months and children will design African map sculptures for their schools and administrative buildings in the Kitchener Waterloo region.

This project is open to children in Grade 3 up to Grade 8.

Rowac Kids Club is an academic and arts focused kids club. Participation is open to local kids 5
years to 14 years old. The club provides opportunities for children to develop creativity and
express themselves through the arts; Singing, dancing, painting, and drama give children the
chance to find out who they are — or sometimes pretend to be someone different — and
express it in beautiful ways. They may also help prepare children for their future in a specific
area.

Rowac Kids’ Club is working towards future expansion of its activities to include aspects of
sports, volunteering, and agriculture. The club is funded by Rowac and donations from
members.
